Following a team, a league or a ground
The filters can cut the calendar down to single teams, leagues or grounds, and your choices are saved in your browser for next time.
Start with the three groups
At the top of the calendar are the filters, and the first row holds three groups: International, Franchise leagues and Domestic. On a first visit International and Franchise leagues are on and Domestic is off. Click a group's name to switch it on or off as a whole. Each one shows two kinds of count: how many of its teams you follow out of how many there are, and one small number per format in that format's colour, so you can see how much cricket a group would add before you switch it on.
Narrow it down with the funnel
Next to each group is a small funnel. Press it and the group opens into a card holding the next level down:
- International opens into Test nations, Associates and, when there are fixtures for them, A sides.
- Franchise leagues opens into the leagues, and each league into its teams.
- Domestic opens into countries, then competitions, then teams.
Each of those opens again with its own arrow, until you reach single teams. Tick only the teams you want and the rest drop out of the calendar. Opening a group never switches it on by itself, so you can look inside Domestic without filling your calendar with it. An open group card also has its own small format chips, so you can, for example, follow Test and ODI cricket for internationals while keeping only T20 in the franchise leagues. The "All" link beside them undoes that.
Format, gender and stadium
The second row holds the four format chips (Test, FC, ODI and T20, explained in the formats guide), the Men's and Women's chips, the Stadium filter, the time-zone select and Reset.
Stadium starts at "Anywhere". Open it and it lists countries, and each country opens into its grounds. Pick a single ground, several, or a whole country. Choosing a whole country is a standing choice: a ground in that country that joins the calendar later is included without you touching the filter, and so are that country's matches whose ground has not been announced yet. The "Anywhere" link switches the stadium filter off again.
The time-zone select starts on Auto, your browser's own zone; the time zones guide explains it. Reset puts every filter back to the first-visit defaults. It keeps your chosen view and leaves the light or dark theme alone.
Your choices are saved in your own browser and nowhere else, so they are there next time you visit on the same device.
Month, Agenda and Auto
The three buttons at the top right choose how the calendar is drawn. Month is the grid, a week to a row. Agenda is a list, day by day, which suits a phone. Auto, the default, uses the grid wherever it fits and the list where it does not. On a phone you can still choose Month and pan the week sideways.
Getting around
The Filters button on the date bar moves the page between the filters and the calendar. The arrows either side of Today step a month back or forward, and Today brings you back to the present; on a keyboard, the left and right arrow keys and T do the same. When a day in the grid has more matches than fit, a "+N more" button appears under it, and pressing it opens a card listing all of that day's matches with their times.
Click any match for its details card: the teams, the series, the dates, the time in your zone and the venue, with a scorecard link where one exists and an "Add to Google Calendar" button.
Browsing instead
If you would rather read a list than set filters, the teams, grounds and series pages each gather the matches this calendar has for one side, one ground or one series.
